349,803. Wireless receiving apparatus. KOLSTER-BRANDES, Ltd., Cray Works, Sidcup, Kent.-(Assignees of Clement, L. M. ; 42, Pollard Road, Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, U.S.A.) June 20, 1930, No. 18869. Convention date, Oct. 5, 1929. [Class 40 (v).] A wireless receiver used on a car, aircraft, &c. is controlled from another point on the vehicle and means are provided for preventing the ignition system of the vehicle from interfering with reception. The tuning means 16 of the set is preferably rotated in one direction or the other by a motor 21, under control of a reversing relay 22 and a control unit 12 comprising a voltmeter graduated in frequency &c. and connected to the potentiometer 23 operated by the motor. The motor and filaments of the receiver are energized by the car battery 40, inductances 44 and a condenser 45 preventing high-frequency currents from the ignition system reaching the set. A filter 39 comprising audio and radio frequency chokes 52, 53 is arranged between the battery 40 and the plug 30. The ignition circuit may be tuned by a coil 31 to a frequency outside the range of reception of the receiver. More than one control unit may be provided. The receiver may be located on the top of the wing of an aeroplane.
