Abstract

An imitation marble slab is made by moulding from a composition comprising Keene's superfine white cement, marble or alabaster powder, pure lime and alum, in proportions preferably 64 parts, 160 parts, 1 part and 1 part respectively. The slab may be coloured by immersing in water on which colouring matter is floated, and rendered translucent by immersing in oil. It may be dipped in liquid bronze and lacquer after drying and wax-polished.
