[Class 139.] A watch is associated with a metallic cigarette or cigar case in such manner that its face is either visible on the outside of the case or can be seen when the case is opened. The methods of mounting the watch or watch movement are : the watch proper is inside the case and the watchglass frame outside, and the two parts of the watch are screwed, Fig. 2, or sprung together to grip between them the edges of an aperture in a wall of the case, the watch being positioned by a stud on it engaging with a recess in the aperture in the case ; the watch is held in an inwardly dished part of a wall of the case by a flanged ring sprung into the dished part over the watch, or by being screwed therein, Fig. 4, or by screws if the watch is square or rectangular in shape ; if the watch is visible only when the case is opened, it is mounted in a recess in an internally projecting part of a wall of the case so as not to project outside; or the watch may be hinged inside the case and be visible only when the case is opened, or it may also be visible through an aperture when the case is closed. The winding knob is substantially flush with the walls of the case, as, for example, in a case consisting of two hinged parts, the knob is in a circular recess formed by juxtaposed semi-circular recesses in the two parts. When the watch is in a corner of the case, the winding knob may project out of the corner.
