[Class 51 (ii).] In a coke oven discharging ram b in which the bar a carries a shoe adapted to rest on the oven sole i, the shoe is pivoted to the bracket c carried by the bar so that it can oscillate freely about the horizontal transverse axis d. Fig. 1 shows a sliding shoe f, and Fig. 2 a shoe comprising a member h in which are mounted three rollers k. A further construction is described in which two shoes, each comprising two rollers, are pivotally mounted one at each end of a two-armed lever adapted to rock about the axis d.
