Abstract
A polyethylene polyamine is prepared by the interaction of an alkylene dihalide and ammonia. The reaction is conducted under pressure in an autoclave and polymerization as well as condensation is stated to take place. The preferred ingredients are ethylene dichloride and ammonia, but the use of other halides of ethylene and propylene dichloride are referred to. The product is used as an accelerator of vulcanization of rubber and the like.ALSO:The vulcanization of rubber and the like is accelerated by the addition to the mix of a polyalkylene polyamine prepared by the interaction an an alkylene dihalide and ammonia. The product is of indefinite chemical composition and is stated to be composed of chains of varying length consisting of ethylene groups linked together by secondary amino nitrogen atoms, each chain being terminated at each end by primary nitrogen atoms. It is suggested that branched chains may also be present. The reaction is conducted under pressure in an autoclave, and polymerization as well as condensation is stated to take place. The preferred ingredients are ethylene dichloride and ammonia, but the use of other halides of ethylene and propylene dichloride are referred to.
