347,622. Adjusting wireless apparatus. PARAGON RUBBER MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., 12, Norfolk Street, Strand, London, and CROOT, G. W., The Chase, Marshalls Park, Romford, Essex. Jan. 17, 1930, No. 1776. [Class 37.] In a wireless receiving apparatus, a multiple contact switch controls the operation of a number of indicator elements which indicate the station or wavelength to which the apparatus is set. As shown applied to a tuning condenser, a number of insulated radial strips g are clamped on the sleeve hand adjusted to positions corresponding to those occupied by a pin on the inner face of the tuning dial when the condenser is set to the selected wavelengths. Each arm g carries a spring contact j which is depressed by the pin on the dial against a metal plate f thereby closing the circuit of the corresponding signal lamp, which may be located behind a translucent glass panel or stencil on which the name of the station or the wavelength is indicated. Alternatively the radial strips may comprise pairs of spring fingers which are pressed into contact by the pin on the dial. A switch is provided for opening the signal circuit when the desired station has been tuned in. The invention is also applicable to apparatus in which the operating member selects one of a number of tuned-in circuits.
