[Class 106 (i).] In a perforated-record-controlled statistical machine in which the data remain set up in the machine while the card is being removed, the card feeler-pins 21 are traversed by contact-making slides 31, 32, for addition and subtraction respectively, which slides are connected to contact bars 46, 48 in a connection box 47 having a relatively transverse series of sliders 61, 62 connected to electromagnets 52 each of which controls a selector slide 91 in the pin-box 23 of an accummulator or record printing device. The data from any row of card perforations can be set up on any of the selector slides and a plurality of selectors can be controlled from one row of perforations; also by the use of two sliders 61, 62 data from either of two rows of perforations can be set up on one selector. The contacts of the subtraction slides for units are adjustable and can be advanced one space. The searching and selector slides advance under spring control when freed by operation of the draw-bars 34, 35, 102 by the linkages controlled by an eccentric 79 on the main shaft 80, and the selector slides are lifted at the end of the cycle by a cam 81 on the same shaft. An operating pin 98, Fig. 4, on each selector then lifts the appropriate stop. These pins are adjustably mounted on the selector slide 91 in notches 101, Fig. 3, so that the data selected in accordance with the notches 93 on the slide can be transposed.
