Abstract

346,402. Gas cock handles. MAIN, Ltd., R. & A. and WORTLEY, G. W., Gothic Works, Falkirk, Stirlingshire. Jan. 10, 1930, No. 1018. [Class 135.] The handle or thumbpiece 1 of a gas cock is formed separate from the plug 5 and is secured thereto by a tongue and slot joint, the tongue being retained against axial withdrawal by a pin or the like lying within the cock barrel or casing. In the form shown in Fig. 2 a separate securing pin 7 passes through the plug 5 and tongue 3. In Fig. 3 the inner end of the tongue 3 is formed as a cylindrical portion 11 which is slid laterally into a slot in the plug 5. The thumb-piece may consist of metal with a non-metallic substance 10, Fig. 2, such as synthetic resin moulded round it, or the manipulating part may be fashioned wholly from the non-metallic substance.
