Abstract
345,759. Boiler stoves. STEVENSON, A., 60, Newhaven Road, Leith, Midlothian. Feb. 12, 1930, No. 4702. [Class 126.] Air supply for combustion; ash-pans.-In a boiler stove in which air passes through a passage A between the bottom of the ashpan B and the soleplate, being delivered in a heated condition below the rear part of the fire, the passage A is controlled by a door F or like regulator at or near the front of the furnace. The rear corners of the ashpan may be cut away as shown in Fig. 3, and holes K may be formed in the botton, to provide passage for the air. In a modification, shown in Fig. 4, the air passes through tubes A<1> extending from front to rear of the ashpan, their upturned inner ends being protected from ashes by a plate M. The air supply to the front ends of the tubes is controlled by a door.
