Abstract

345,544. Explosive marine mines. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT. - GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. April 29, 1930, No. 13223. Convention date, May 15, 1929. [Class 9 (ii).] The electrodes 13 as well as the glass electrolyte container 12 of a horn battery for firing a mine are enclosed by the lead cap 11. These parts form a whole which is inserted in a socket 18 of the mine and is secured in place by a nut 19 screwing into a socket 20. Contacts 14, 15 establish communication with the interior of the mine. The glass vessel 12 is cushioned by springs 16, 17. In a modification, the lead cap is slidably mounted and normally kept within the mine, being extended outwards only just before the mine is laid.
