[Class 44.] The vertically sliding shutter 3 of a cinema projection booth is held raised by a pivoted lever 5 having annularly disposed projections 7, one or other of which is engaged by a pivoted hook, link, &c. 9 carried by the shutter. Release may be effected by rotation of lever 5 in either direction to register a gap between the projections 7 with the hook. Operation of the lever may be effected directly by hand or from a distance by cord &c. and the provision of a number of projections 7 allows lever 5 to be placed initially in the most convenient angular position. To give automatic release in case of fire the hook may be of combustible material, and for like purpose the hook, instead of being mounted directly on the shutter as in Fig. 1, may be mounted on a bimetallic strip 13 secured to the shutter and adapted to bend under rise of temperature to move the hook clear of the projection 7.
