Abstract
343,652. Turning hard material. POSSENTI, A., 29, Lungomare Nazzario Sauro, and SCORZA, C., 159, Via Andrea Costa, both in Pesaro, Italy. Dec. 18, 1929, No. 38825. Convention date, May 31. [Class 124.] Cast pipes or other articles shaped as a solid of revolution are removed from their moulds by causing a disintegrating tool to enter between the rotating flask and casting. The flask 1 may be rotated and fed axially by the means used in centrifugal casting or by gearing 12 .. 16 and hydraulic cylinder 6 while an adjustable tool, comprising inclined blades 22, 23, Fig. 2, and a star wheel 11, acts on the mould material which falls out owing to the inclination of the flask. In a modification a tool 28, Fig. 4, is reciprocated by a spring 29 and a face cam 34 rotated by a motor 33. In another modification the tool is rotated and fed axially while the flask is rotated only.
