343,616. Sifting-apparatus. PIRLOT, F., 68, Rue Mignot Delstanche, Ixelles, Belgium.-(Assignee of Eltges, H. ; 95, Rue Pierre Decoster, Forest, Belgium.) Nov. 29, 1929, No. 36682. Convention date, Aug. 3. [Class 117.] In sifting- apparatus of the kind in which the sieve 2 is vibrated in a direction perpendicular to its surface bv a rotary unbalanced disc 5, the disc is carried at the end of a long hinged arm 7 so that its movements under the action of the centrifugal force are substantially rectilinear, and is positively connected to the sieve by a hinged rod 4. To allow variation of the out-of-balance forces, the disc is provided with a recess 5b, Fig. 2, in which a weight 5a is radially adjustable by a threaded spindle 5d. In the construction described, two sieves are superposed and inclined in opposite directions in their frames 3. The sieves are tensioned by rods 8 simultaneously actuated by a worm shaft 10 and nuts 9. In order to provide some freedom of movement at the feed end of the sieve, the rods 8 pass through enlarged holes in the frame 3 and are provided with a ball-and-socket bearing 12a, 12b, Fig. 3, thereon.
