342,892. Photographic drying and glazing apparatus. GERSTER, H., 9, Alte Jakobstrasse, Berlin. Jan. 31, 1930, No. 3377. [Class 98 (ii).] In apparatus for drying and imparting gloss to photographs, the photographs are delivered to a drying cylinder by a feed band which squeezes them against the cylinder before they are conveyed round it by a second band partly encircling the cylinder. The photographs are placed on the band 4 and carried by it to the drying cylinder 3 against which they are squeezed by the roller 6 the pressure being provided by a weighted lever 8. They are then conveyed round the cylinder 3 by the band 9 and delivered to the tray 17. The band 9 is tensioned by means of a roller 15 and the band 4 by an adjustable roller 7. The cylinder 3 is heated internally by steam, gas or electricity, and the surface may be of non- rusting metal.
