Abstract

341,134. Regulators for windows and ventilators. HOPKINS, E. M., Crofty, Penclawdd, Llanrhidian Higher, Gower, Glamorgan. Oct. 19, 1929, No. 31847. [Classes 20 (iii) and 137.] A ventilator is operated by a thermostat employing an expansible liquid and provided with means for adjusting the initial setting of the ventilator. A coiled copper pipe 1 is secured to the wall and is connected to a cylinder 2 having a plunger 3 pivoted at 5 to a link 6 carrying a pin 8 moving in a slot 9 upon the ventilator. One side of the slot 9 is serrated (or both sides according to the Provisional Specification) so that the ventilator is locked against opening except by the action of the thermostat. The cylinder 2 is secured by brackets 15, 16 to a bracket 13 which is fixed to the abutment 14. The tube 1 is filled with alcohol, methylated spirit, or other suitable liquid, and the cylinder is filled with grease down to the point B. A lateral projection 18 is provided with a threaded plug 17, by adjustment of which any desired setting of the ventilator may be effected.
