Abstract

339,931. Brandt, E. W. Nov. 9, 1929, [Convention date]. Projectiles.-Relates to projectiles provided with a perforated tail tube 5 containing a propellent cartridge and fitted externally with guiding vanes 1. According to the invention, these vanes are perforated at 7 to equalize the propellent gas pressure on both sides of each vane. The edge of each vane may have lugs 9, 10 bent in opposite directions, and serving to secure auxiliary propellent charges 13 between the vanes. Alternatively, the auxiliary charges are arranged with their corners in the holes of the vanes, or the charges are inserted in the holes one in each. The rear ends 20 of the vanes are rounded.
