Abstract
339,847. Mecucci, P. Jan. 24, 1930. Book-keeping; sheet-holders; carbon papers, arrangements of.-Means for holding in position several sheets or forms with interposed carbon papers to enable simultaneous records to be made comprises a rectangular baseplate 1 - - 4 of wood, &c., with lines printed or marked thereon to correspond with the sheets, and on which is pivotally mounted a frame 6. The frame 6, shown as hinged on a horizontal pivot 5, is provided with struts 7, 8 over which, a journal sheet A and double-faced carbon sheet B are folded and secured by U-shaped bows 9 - - 12, whilst the lower ends are folded around a rod 13 and secured by bows 14, 15. By pulling a slidable pin 35 which actuates linkages to operate a pawl 38 engaging the teeth 39 of a toothed segment 40 integral with the axis 5, the frame 6 can be raised or lowered into suitable angular positions. A clamping-rod 17 at the top of the baseplate, hinged at 18 and retained at 19 by a catch 20, holds a single-face carbon paper C on the baseplate. Guiding strips 21, 22 for the paper sheets E, D are hingedly connected to the baseplate. Two spring-controlled lever-plates 23, 24 keyed to shafts integral with the baseplate hold the sheets in position and are provided with mark. ings to correspond with those on the baseplate. Slots 26 in which slide indicators 27 are provided in the lever-plates 23, 24. Wings 28 extending under bridge-rods 31, 32 are adapted to be pressed down by the arms of the operator during the manipulation of sheets by his fingers.
