Backing and like tins or pans. - In battercooking utensils, e.g. waffle irons, closed cake moulds and open cake pans or griddles, a gauge is situated around the centre of the utensil to indicate the correct amount of batter as it is poured in. As shown in Fig. 1, a waffle iron having ornamenting stumps and partitions 7, 8 is provided with indicating marks 10, 20 arranged along two concentric circles. The inner marks are for thick batter and the outer marks are for thin batter. The marks 10, 20 mav be formed by a ridge or groove on the bottom of the mould.
