Abstract

337,255. Harrison, S. C., and Iles, H. Dec. 6, 1929. Curtains, suspending. -Relates to a curtain rail bracket of the kind in which a pair of arms are formed for engagement with the rail at one end, the other end being shaped to a box-like form to receive fixing screws. According to the present invention the bracket is formed from a sheet metal blank shaped to form a central tongue piece or pieces and a pair of side pieces, the blank being bent so that the side pieces form the arms, the tongue piece being also bent to form, in combination with the arms, the box-like end. In the construction shown, the blank consists of a tongue piece b and side pieces c provided with slots d to receive the rail. The side pieces are bent downwards to form the arms, the part of the blank lying between the arms forming the top of the box, the front and sides of which are formed by bending down through a right angle, in two positions, the tongue b. Projections f on the tongue are engaged with notches e to ensure rigidity of the box-like end. Screw holes g are provided. A valance rail bracket k cranked to abut against the front and top or bottom faces of the box-like end may be provided.
