Sticks, telescopic, convertible into stands and supports and seats.-A combined walking-stick, seat, stand, &c. comprises a main tube 3, a tubular handle 1 detachably connected to the tube 3 and an adjustable inner rod or tube 4. A screw 6 in the handle serves to clamp the tube 3 and to hold the inner tube 4 in adjusted position, a spring E causing the tube 4 to rise when the screw is released. The walking-stick may be converted into a seat or an adjustable stand for a telescope, field glasses, &c. A wooden seat 12, Fig. 3, is fitted with a socket to engage the upper end of the tube 3 when the handle is removed. The walking-stick may be shortened by detachably joining a short length of tube 3a, Fig. 2, to the main tube 3. A disc having a central plug which may be fitted into the lower end of the main tube prevents the stick sinking into the ground. Opera glasses, &c. may be clamped to a casting having a socket which fits the upper end of the inner tube 4; the clamping means may comprise a channel 25, Fig. 4, of spring brass or a casting having a central hole 17, Fig. 6, therein to engage the central hole of the binoculars. A .telescope may be provided with a collar 33, Fig. 8, having a casting 34 designed to fit into the upper end of the tube 4. A tripod may be fitted to the lower end of the walking-stick.
