Abstract

337,132. Ireland, W. F. Sept. 16, 1929. Ends; lids; partitions. -A receptacle for a safety razor comprises a vessel for a blade-preserving or anti - corrosive liquid with means for sealing the vessel and for isolating the handle of the razor from the liquid. As shown the receptacle 1 is adapted to contain a razor of the Gillette type, the liquid being contained in an inner vessel 4 provided with a screw cover 7 and the razor head 12 being suspended in the liquid from the underside of the cover. The cover has an upstanding wall 8 provided with apertured projections 15 in which the handle 14 of the razor is held; a packing ring 9 in the cover 7 engages an annular projection 6<a> on the vessel 4 to seal the liquid therein. The receptacle has a cylindrical cover 2 which serves to hold hot water &c. during shaving, a projection 16 therein supporting the head of the razor clear of the walls of the cover and in the hottest part of the liquid. After shaving the razor may be supported in the vessel 4 with the cover 7 in place, slots in the peripheries of the receptacle 1 and cover 7 accommodating the handle of the razor. The bottom of the receptacle is detachable and may be formed as a cup to contain shaving cream or soap; the space below the vessel 4 serves to hold shaving accessories and may be provided with a removable partition. In a modification, the screwed stem of the razor head projects through the cover 7 and serves to hold the handle of the razor in an upright position in the cover 2.
