Abstract
337,084. Selenophon Licht-und Tonbilges. July 11, 1929, [Convention date]. Oscillographs particularly for photographically recording sound and wherein the conductor or string is vibrated in the magnetic field of the instrument by telephone currents, have their movement damped by coating the conductor with a light viscous material such as lacquer, glue, or gum arabic. The coating may be applied over the whole length of the conductor, or, as shown in Fig. 2, a part of the conductor 1 at which it is crossed by the beam of light may be left uncovered. The coating 3 is preferably broadened where the conductor is clamped in jaws 2
