Abstract

Pilot jets.-In means for igniting gas stove burners in which tubes 9 extend from a casing 8 containing a pilot burner 6 towards outlets 4 in the burners 1 as described, for example, in Specification 312,122, a guard plate 17 is supported by a shoulder 16 in the casing above the burner 6, the plate being provided with a central opening 18, through which the pilot flame extends, and a series of outer openings 19. Air inlets 15 are provided in the casing below the tip of the burner 6. For igniting an oven burner, a pipe 21 is connected to one of the tubes 20, 22. The casing 8 is provided with a cap 23 having openings 25, 26 staggered relatively to the openings in the plate 17, the larger opening 26 being arranged over the end of the tube 20 or 22 to which the pipe 21 is connected. The cap is retained in correct position by a projection 24a engaging a notch in the casing. The burner 6 is secured to a bottom plate 11 provided with openings 14 and projections 12 for detachably connecting it to a flange 13 in the casing. The pilot flame is regulated by screwing the burner 6 on the supply pipe 7, a ball 8a being located between conical grooved or notched walls 6a, 7a, one of which is of softer metal than the ball.
