Folding tables. - In a table of the kind with legs separately pivoted to the underside, the legs are connected so that the movement of any leg is communicated to each of the other legs. Figs. 2 and 3 show a corner of a table top 12 with a rim 13, a pivoted leg 14, and a guide 29 for parts of the movementtransmitting devices. The leg 14 is secured in a U-section sheath 15 with ears 17, 18 by means of which the leg is pivoted to the ears 22, 23 on a bracket 19 screwed to the bars 13. When a leg is swung outwards about its pivots 24, the link or brace 43 causes the block 34 to move in the guide 29, and the cable 40 clamped to the block, passing over corner pulleys 45, transmits a similar motion to the similar blocks 34 and legs 14 at the other three corners. During this outward movement the pivot 42 connecting the links 41, 43 moves along the slot 29, the outer end of which has an inclined part 33, which is substantially at right-angles to the strut 43 in the position shown in Fig. 2. The leg is thereby held rigidly. The ends of the cable 40 are connected by parts 46, Fig. 6, with overlapping parts 47 each with a series of holes 48 through which a securing-screw 49 may be passed.
