Abstract
335,878. British Celanese, Ltd. March 13, 1929, [Convention date]. Compound transparencies.-The intermediate sheet united to two sheets of glass in forming compound transparencies is composed of a cellulose derivative and an organic tartrate such as dibutyl or diethyl tartrate in the proportion, for example, of about 100 to 40 parts bv weight. Dyes, such as ponsol blue, may be added to the composition, also synthetic resins, such as are described in Specifications 296,675, 299,065, [both in Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], or 347,646, [Group V], and stabilizers such as urea may be added. The composition may be deposited as a solution on adhesive-coated glass, or may be formed into sheets on flat surfaces before use, or may be cut into sheets from previously formed blocks. Suitable adhesives such as gelatin or vinyl acetate resin, or a mixture of a cellulose derivative and a synthetic resin compatible therewith, may be used. The cellulose derivative may be the acetate prepared as described in Specifications 341,890, 347,257, [both in Group IV], or 347,648, [Group V].
