335,450. Fabrik Electr. Apparate F. Sauter Akt.-Ges. Nov. 26, 1928, [Convention date]. Actuating-mechanism; electrically-actuated valves. - A power operated valve, wherein an axially movable spindle 15 is cornected to a. motoroperated crank device 6, 7 through the intermediary of a spring 13, is so arranged that the effective action of the spring is in a direction along the axis of the valve spindle 15. An electric motor 1 drives the crank mechanism 6, 7 and is provided with a switching arrangement 21. 22, 24 which permits of a half revolution at a time of the crank. A connecting-rod 9 slides in a longitudinally movable casing 10 in which is located the compression spring 13 which presses a pin 11 on the connecting-rod 9 against the upper end of a slot 12 on the casing 10 in the open position of the valve. The valve spindle 15 is connected to the movable casing 10 by means of a pin 14. The stroke of the rod 9 is arranged to be greater than the lift of the valve member 17 so that, in the closed position, the valve is held on to its seat by spring pressure, and, in the opening movement, is raised positively therefrom by the abutment of the pin 11 against the upper part of the slot 12. In place of the compression spring 13, a tension spring may be used, and the thrust rod 9 may be provided with a slide in which the crank pin 8 is guided to replace the more rigid connection shown.
