Abstract

335,205. Halliday, G. June 17, 1929. Electric radiators.- A radiator is provided with a lagged storage tank for water of such size that the current can be cut off during the peak hours, the heat stored in the water in the tank being sufficient to maintain the radiator at the desired temperature. In the arrangement shown the radiator is mounted on the tank 2, a heating element 4 is arranged in the uptake 5, which is provided with an expansion and inspection chamber 6. A second element 3 may be arranged as shown, and may be a small element which is in action the whole time, the main element 4 being cut off by a time switch during the peak hours. Other arrangements of circulating pipes and heating-elements are described. The tank 2 may be arranged between the joints of a floor which supports the radiator, or two radiators may share a single tank which is arranged in a wall between them.
