Abstract

334,627. Caesar, V. June 12, 1929. Urinary and generative organs, treating; catheters; probes; electric appliances; irrigators. -In treating gonorrhoea, a curative solution is introduced into the diseased organs by a catheter 1 and an interrupted direct electric current is applied through a silver wire 19 in the catheter serving as internal electrode, and through two external electrodes one placed below the organs and the other above. The lower electrode - consists of a spring saddle on which the patient sits, and which may carry a helical spring holder for the male organ, and the upper electrode consists of a wire belt or a spring frame held against the back. Liquid is supplied to the catheter through a plug valve 16 and may be drained away through a valve 21. The organs are prepared for treatment by insertion of electrically-heated probes which are arranged so that different parts are heated to different degrees either by forming the various parts or the coverings of the parts of materials of different heat conductivity, such as rubber, metal, silk, or cotton.
