Abstract

334,395. Siebauer, M. Sept. 20, 1929. Cheese cutters.-In a cheese-cutting device of the kind comprising a pivotally-mounted knife operated by means of rack-and-pinion apparatus and a crank handle over a cheese-supporting table adapted to be slidably and radially adjusted, the knife blade is connected detachablv to a bent double-armed lever connected pivotally at one end to the operating rack and mounted intermediate its ends to rock about a rigidly-supported pivot, from which the blade is at a substantial radial distance. In the illustrated form the cheese is supported on a table 7 mounted rotatably on rollers 5<a> on a plate 5 movable laterally on rails 4, and is cut by a mechanically-operated knife-blade 14 connected detachably to the bent lever 13 pivoted at 12. The tail end of the lever is connected to a pivoted rack bar 19 held in engagement with a pinion 22 on the crank shaft by a link, so that operation of the handle 21 raises or lowers the knife blade. An adjustable stop 25 limits the cutting movement.
