333,352. Ges. f³r Teerverwertung, Spilker, A., and Spilker, G. July 1, 1929. Naphthalene is purified by melting it, directly washing it with caustic alkali solution and then distilling. An example is given in which naphthalene is melted, washed with caustic soda solution, leached several times with water and then distilled.
