Abstract

332,811. Robinson, F. G. Sept. 16, 1929. Closures completed by outstanding packing- rings ; cords to facilitate withdrawal of stoppers. -A flexible cord 1, or a. ring. or disc is introduced between the packing washer 3 and the stopper 2, and is removed prior to unscrewing the stopper to release the wedging action and facilitate the removal of the stopper. The cord projects through a hole in the stopper and is pulled therethrough to relieve the tightness of the stoppers. In the case of a disc or ring 6 attached to the cord, the stopper is suitably domed &c. to accommodate the disc &c. when displaced by pulling the cord, as shown in Fig. 3.
