Abstract

Moulding confectionery; depositing-machines.-In making tablets of chocolate or the like independent bodies are formed in a mould, and after these bodies have hardened a separate mass is poured upon them in the same mould in such a way that it connects the independent bodies at their bases. The method is described as applied to the manufacture of a tablet which can be divided into sections each of which has a representation of a mocha bean standing out therefrom. A mould n, Fig. 3, having recesses u, in the shape of a bean, in the base and a rim v. is used. The mould is placed on a plate m and held thereby to a perforated plate f forming the bottom of a trough e containing material for the beans. The perforations g correspond to the recesses of the mould and the recesses are filled individually when a plate h with wooden cores k is forced downwards by a screwed spindle i. The columns passing through the perforations are severed by suction when the plate is slightly raised. The plate m is supported on a bent arm p<1> of a lever p with a handle q and is held in position bv a counterweight s. After removal from the plate m the material in the mould is allowed to harden and a second mass is then poured in to the depth of the rim v.
