Impression surfaces; set-off, preventing. - To prevent set-off during perfecting, the freshly printed side of the material is supported on a dry rough surface while the reverse side of the material is being printed. For this purpose, the second impression roller may be provided with a covering sheet of emery or sand paper, or the surface of the roller may be provided with cross grooves, or a roughened band, which may be endless or wound from one reel to another, may be passed between the second impression roller and the material.
