Abstract

329,723. Downs, C., and Bellwood, R. A. March 4, 1929. Cooling fish meal.- Fish meal &c. after disintegration, sterilization, and drying, is elevated and cooled by passage up a conveyer with a hollow screw worm down which cooling fluid flows. The hollow screw C, which may be built up from separate blades, is connected with a shaft E, so that water enters the shaft at G, passes into the screw at I and passes out at J, L. Water may pass spirally down an external hollow jacket. The meal is introduced at A and discharged at D.
