Abstract
328,965. Bach, C. H. Feb. 7, 1929. Anti-dazzle screens. - An anti - dazzle screen is carried in a frame having a longitudinal tubular upper section 11<a> rotatably or slidably and rotatablv mounted on a rod 12 supported by arms 13 adapted to be fixed to the upper rail 14 of the windscreen or vehicle frame to be clear of the usual windscreen wiper mechanism, the section 11<a> having means cooperating with means on the arms 13 for locking it in a set position. As shown one end of the section 11<a> has a serrated disc 11<b> pressed into engagement with a corresponding disc 13b on the arm 13 by a spring 16. Alternatively the section 11<a> may be mounted without axial freedom and be provided with a spring pressed plunger to engage recesses in the flat face of a disc carried by one arm 13. The positions of the plunger and recesses may be reversed. Fig. 8 shows an alternative means of locking the screen in its operative and inoperative positions, the frame having an arm 11f connected by a spring 18 to an arm 13f on the arm 13. Stops 11<k>, 11<h> respectively engage the arm 13f in the two extreme positions. The screen may be moved by a Bowden cable from the pilot's seat. According to both Provisional Specifications the member 12 may be adjustably clamped to vertical rods depending from brackets on the top rail of the windscreen.
