Abstract

Cameras combined with flashlights; shutters.- Means for operating the shutter of a camera simultaneously with the firing of a flash comprises a bent lever 11, 15 having a hammer head 16, which bears against a spring- pressed bolt 17, and rests on the head 23 of an antinous or other release device set in a bush 20 in the base of a casing 6, which supports by an arm 5 a trough 7 containing the flash powder. The arm is held in the position shown, with the spring 19 on the bolt 17 compressed, by a fuze of cotton or other light material stretched across the trough 7 and severed by the heat or flame of the flash. A hook and pin connection 13, 14 on the lever 11 and arm 5 allows the lever to be held in place for fixing the fuze.
