Abstract

328,118. Anderson. D. D. April 22, 1929. Boxing games, mechanical.-In a toy boxing game apparatus, manikins separately operated by players may move forward and turn, at the same time striking with their fists, an opponent falling when struck on the head, chest, or back. Each manikin is mounted on a disc 24 rotatable on a wheeled carrier, said disc being rotated by turning the rotatable table 20, through rods 26 and a sprocket chain, around wheel 25. The carrier may move rectilinearly on wheels 13 against spring stops 28, the arm motion of the figure being obtained by operating handles 21 to which are attached rods 80, flexible members 74 connected to their ends passing over pulleys 79, 76, 75 to pivoted levers 71, which, upon motion of handles 21, raise slide rods 70; these lift rods 60, through links 61, 59, turn arms 56, shafts 55, and the arm members 54; the members 54, 56 being fixed to said shafts. The lower member of the left arm of the figure is connected to an extension 68, so that said arm will, in its upraised position, be lower than the right arm. Both arms are operated independently by the corresponding handles 21, and are such that they come opposite the projections 93, 94, and head respectively of an opponent; striking any off which causes the rod 85, Fig. 10, to be depressed; this throws catch 86, which depresses rod 41, and slide 42 thus disconnects bar 36 from notch 38, whereupon the spring 40 opens the clutch jaws 32, releasing flange 47 and allowing the figure to fall over. The torso and legs of the figure are pivoted at 49, and the whole figure is fitted to the tube 46 integral with the flange 47.
