Abstract
326,246. Heneage, E., and Heneage, M. B. Dec. 10, 1928. Producers. - Gas is withdrawn through an cutlet 15 below the grate, and air is blown through a pipe 16 to a space surrounding the fuel container 3 which is thereby cooled. Steam is generated by supplying water to a tubular ring 8 having perforations in its upper surface, and is directed inwardly over the fuel bed. The fuel is preferably carried in a hopper in the roof of the vehicle and the water under the driver's seat. Means for allowing the escape of excess gas when the engine is idling are connected to the throttle The gas in the outlet pipe may be cooled by a jacket 19, Fig. 2, supplied with air from a cowl 20, the heated air being admitted to the producer.
