Abstract
326,132. Nose, T. Nov. 2, 1928. Moulding concrete conduits in situ.- The conduits are cast in sections between shutters 5 on a concrese base-plate 1 using a resilient core, and this core is then removed. Bag-shaped cores 5 connected by a rope or chain are then positioned beneath the gaps and inflated through tubes 10, and the spaces are them filled. The tubes 10 are drawn out so that the cores deflate and are then removed, the spaces for the passage of the tubes 10 being subsequently filled. When conduits are cast in tiers, the inflating tubes 10 cannot be used; in this case the bag-shaped cores 5 are connected together by a chain or rope and a tube so that, when positioned, they may be inflated and the hollow spaces filled. The core may be formed in three layers, the outer and inner being of flexible material such as rubber and the intermediate layer of canvas or reinforced fabric. Specification 250,727 is referred to.
