Abstract

325,792. Rhys, W. D. Nov. 15, 1928. Pedals and pedal-lever mountings.-To facilitate a gradual and smooth engagement of a clutch, the travel of the usual clutch pedal is increased. Pivoted at b to the clutch pedal a is an auxiliary pedal d with an extension d' secured by a flexible member e to a fixed part f. In an alternative construction, Fig. 3, the pedal a is shaped to engage with a lever f connected to the clutch, so as to give an extended travel of the pedal. In each figure, the broken and full lines indicate the position of the pedal at the first and final engagement respectively of the clutch. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 7488/06, 12321/06; 11722/08, [Class 80, Mechanism &c.], 23267/08; and 238,538, [Class 80 (ii), Gearing, Variablespeed &c.].
