Abstract

324,493. Brown, S. G. Dec. 31, 1928. Diaphragms.-A sound reproducing or transmitting device has a large diameter, circular, conical diaphragm with a flare or bell-shaped mouth. The flare A may extend over the greater length of the cone, Fig. 1, or may be short, Fig. 4. The flare may be formed from a cone, the excess material being taken up by the ridges a which ridges or creases may be formed by moulding, either with or without cutting along the line a. The diaphragm may also be formed from sections which are joined together by suitable upturned flanges on the sections. The cone is flexibly mounted by material c to a frame D and is actuated axially from its apex.
