Abstract

324,066. Edison Swan Electric Co., Ltd., and Rogers, S. Sept. 12, 1928. Junction boxes. - The cable entrances of a junction box are provided with corrugated or indented metal bonding members, preferably of resilient strip material such as phosphor-bronze, and adapted to be forced into contact with the metal covering of the cable when the parts of the box are drawn together. In the form shown, a square metal junction box is formed of a base, 1 and a cover 2 secured together by clips 3 and screws. A bonding member is secured to a bonding plate 7 in each cable entrance 6 of the box, and comprises a corrugated portion 8 and bentback plain part 9. In use, the portion 8 is bent upwards and the cables passed thereunder. In modified constructions, the bonding member may comprise a corrugated tongue, pressed out from the base 1 or plate 7, or the cable entrances may be formed as a corrugated neck on the box which is formed in two portions screwed together.
