Abstract
323,979. McDermid, J. March 23, 1929. Traps.-A sanitary trap for use with sinks, baths, basins, &c., in which a liquid seal is formed in a U-shaped or other bend, is provided with a detachable antisiphoning pipe leading from the outlet side of the trap to a point below the normal fluid level in the inlet side in combination with a spherical or like chamber between the seal and the outlet adapted to retain sufficient liquid, after discharge through the trap has taken place, to flow back into the bend to reform the seal. The .spherical chamber D may be connected by a union joint with an extension pipe F of one of the forms shown, or may be integral with it. The chamber D may also be removably connected to the top A by a union B. The antisiphoning pipe E is removably connected to the top A and the upper part of the chamber D by unions H, G. This arrangement allows of angular adjustment of the chamber D and extension pipe F. In a modification the pipe E is connected to the side of the chamber D and there is no angular adjustment.
