Abstract

273,060. Vose, E. H. May 12, 1926. Traps. - A removable trap for sinks, baths, lavatory basins, &c., comprises a cylindrical vessel 3 flanged outwardly at its upper end and having perforations 6 at some distance from the bottom 5, in combination with an inner openended imperforate tube 8 of smaller dimensions immovably connected at its upper end through a water seal to the cylindrical vessel 3 above the perforations 6 and projecting downwardly below the perforations so that its end may be sealed by liquid retained in the outer vessel 3. The trap is of metal, earthenware, or other material. It fits loosely into the sink 2 with the flange 4 in a recess. Its diameter is less than that of the waste pipe or drain 1. A downwardly turned flange on the inner tube 8 engages an upwardly turned flange or an annular trough 7 on the vessel 3 to form a water seal between the top of the vessel and the perforations 6. A curved or flat grating 10 may be carried on the inner tube 8 or the outer vessel 3. In a modification the parte are made of pressed metal, soldered or brazed together where, necessary. Specification 5888/93 is referred to.
