Abstract

323,825. Electrolux, Ltd., (Inventia Patent-Verwertungs-Ges.). Oct. 18, 1928. Floors, cleaning and polishing.-Apparatus for treating floors and like surfaces comprises a container for cleaning, polishing or like perforations, provided with a delivery conduit stationary relatively to the apparatus during the normal treating operation thereof, a closing member located in the conduit being adapted to be moved from its closing position by sudden variation in manual manipulation of the apparatus. In a construction shown in Figs. 1 and 3, a container 7 for floorpolishing preparation is provided with a delivery conduit 6 adapted to project into a channel extending through the bearing of a brush disc forming one of the rotating elements of a floorpolishing machine. A ball 9 normally closes the outlet from the container but is displaced upon sudden variation of movement of the machine across the floor. The ball may be held in its closing position by means of a rod 11 secured to the screw cap 10 of the container. In a modification shown in Fig. 4, the conduit 6 has a valve seat 13 adapted to be closed by a valve 12 which is formed at one end with means of attachment to a tension spring 14 and at the other end is provided with a weight 17. The valve is temporarily displaced by sudden variations in movement of the apparatus.
