Abstract
323,629. Tausz, A., and StÚhlik, F. Dec. 22, 1928. Photo - mechanical printing-surfacaces; printing apparatus.- A roller for intaglio or relief printing on long strips of fabric &c. is produced by sensitizing it as with chrome albumen, and printing on this by contact in steps through a film, the length of which is equal to the axial length of the roller, its width being a submultiple of the circumference. Registration marks are provided on the roller and the film. The roller a is supported on bearings adjustable in height by a screw c<6>, in a light-tight box c with hinged covers c<1>, c<2> which rest against the surface of the roller. Opaque extensions c', c<2> of the film B are tensioned by screws h mounted in the box, so as to bring the film into close contact with part of the roller which is then exposed to the printing lamps d. In an alternative construction, the extensions are secured to rollers and the film tensioned by rotating the rollers, which are held by ratchets. Or a translucent flexible blanket as of Para rubber is placed over the film and tightened by either of the above means.
