Road-traffic signals on vehicles. -Direction-signalling arrows L at the front and rear of a vehicle are extended laterally on one side or the other by turning a. pivoted handle E containing a pilot lamp X which lights in the signalling position. The handle E turns a segment C engaging a pinion B which is connected by a flexible shaft to a pinion K adapted to run on a fixed rack P and engage a rack N on the slide bar L, which may carry lamps.
