Abstract
322,244. Brown, J. Sept. 5, 1928. Coupling aerial and detector circuits ; directive signalling.-Aerials, particularly of the type described in Specification 284,004, are coupled to one or more receivers at choice, by means of a screened junction box to which both the feeder lines from the distant aerials and connections from the receiving apparatus are led. The box comprises a number of screened partitions 1 into which extend sheathed leads 2 with telescopic end-pieces 7 from the receivers. The feeders 3 from the aerials are arranged at right-angles, as shown, and are enclosed in external shields 4. Connections 8 between the two sets of feeders are passed through a series of apertures 9, as shown. The junction 'box may also be used for connecting receivers to the line wires of a wired wireless system. Provision may be made for disconnecting " dead ends," 'Where a number of beam aerials are available, the direction of transmission can be rotated to suit prevailing atmospheric conditions at any time.
