Abstract

Hand tools for depositing manure.-A hand appliance for distributing artificial manure comprises an inclined conical or pyramidal receptacle 1 provided with a handle 3 and with a curved mouthpiece 4 at the bottom closed by a slide plate 6 movable by a spring- controlled rod 7 which is bent at its upper end to form a handle 17. The mouthpiece 4 may be of circular, oval, or square cross-section, and its lower part may be extended beyond the plate 6. The rod 7 is movable vertically and angularly about its own axis by means of the handle 17. Its hooked end 9 passes through a hole in the plate 6 so as to stir the manure when the rod is moved. The rod passes through two bearings 10, 11 and is normally pressed downwards by an adjustable spring 13. Its upward movement is limited by a collar 14 adjustable along a graduated part 16 of the rod. A lid may be provided.
