Abstract

321,554. Jackson, H. Nov. 10, 1928. Soldering.-Aluminium parts are soldered by first cleaning them as by filing, then coating them and also the solder with an air excluding and non- oxidizable material consisting of petroleum jelly, which volatilizes at the melting temperature of the solder, and then heating the parts to melt the solder. A suitable solder is one consisting of 4 parts by weight of tin, 1 part of zinc, 1 part of aluminium and 2 parts of lead. This alloy melts at about 230‹ U. to 240‹ C. Specifications 15943/07 and 270,453 are referred to.
